Welcome to the ATCJS GSA!
The Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies Graduate Student Association (ATCJS GSA) is a graduate student-operated body that represents and advocates for the interests of graduate students in the ATCJS collaborative program. With students from so many different departments comprising the graduate student community at ATCJS, we are proud to have one of the most dynamic and diverse GSAs on campus.
The GSA plays several key roles at the ATCJS. The GSA acts as a liaison between the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies and the graduate student community; it plans social events, networking opportunities, professional development opportunities within the Centre, and holds meetings to discuss concerns, plans, and ideas. The GSA also liaises with other committees in the Centre for Jewish Studies (e.g., Graduate Conference).
Finally, the ATCJS GSA oversees the University of Toronto Journal of Jewish Thought, an annual peer-reviewed scholarly journal run by graduate student Editors and affiliated with the Centre for Jewish Studies. It is a great way to get involved and learn about other students' research.
Here’s the best part: membership is free, and all graduate students enrolled in the collaborative program at the CJS are considered members of the ATCJS GSA. We want to hear from you! We are always looking for ways to better serve our graduate community. Contact Miriam Borden (President 2020 - 2021) to learn more or get involved.
Elections are usually held in the fall, so stay tuned!
