Description

Maya Meshel

"Shattered"

On March 2022, I set out with a delegation from Israel to document the first wave of refugees fleeing from Ukraine across the border to Moldova. Through the photos I shot there, I will share the experiences of these grandparents, mothers, and children, who left everything behind and set out into the unknown.

Maya O. Meshel is a Documentary Photographer and a freelance Photojournalist based in Israel.

Her passion in her photography is to tell a story that is true to the brutality and beauty of reality.

Her documentary projects, publications and exhibitions span from women in moments of crisis and refugees fleeing from Ukraine to groups and individuals who have chosen unusual paths in life or who have taken a road of no return.

Her works have appeared in exhibitions in the UJA Federation in Manhattan, New York and on Fox News; and have appeared in print in Chisinau, Moldova.
