From the editors: “Antisemitism is, unfortunately, ‘in’ again. While university classes about antisemitism have mushroomed in recent years, textbooks have woefully lagged behind the times. Even the better ones are hampered by the ambition to follow Jew-hatred in exhausting detail across time and space yet in a manner often divorced from broader context and without the benefit of up-to-date theoretical insights. Seeking to remedy this problem, this volume focuses on concepts rather than chronology or geography. It promotes conversation about antisemitism across disciplinary and thematic lines rather than privileges a single methodological paradigm, a specific academic field, or an overarching narrative. Its twenty-one chapters by leading scholars in diverse fields address the relationship to antisemitism of concepts ranging from Anti-Judaism to Zionism.”
