Antisemitism in the Age of Democracy Fatigue

Antisemitism is said to adapt to different times, places, and ideologies. What is antisemitism like today? This talk identifies new expressions of Jew hatred that are emerging in our time of democracy fatigue and stress. By analyzing antisemitism today, we can also better understand the current crisis facing Western culture.

This event is co-sponsored by the Centre for the Study of France and the Francophone World

Bruno Chaouat is Professor of French and Jewish Studies at the University of Minnesota, where he has also served as director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.  Among his books is Is Theory Good for the Jews? French Thought and the Challenge of the New Antisemitism, which examines the French response to the resurgence of antisemitism.
