We are delighted to invite you to join us for a special awards ceremony and panel honoring Molly Applebaum, Holocaust survivor and author of “Buried Words: The Diary of Molly Applebaum”, published by the Azrieli Foundation in 2017. Her book has won the inaugural Wolfe Chair Holocaust Studies Student Impact Prize. The awards ceremony and panel will be conducted over Zoom Webinar.

Molly Applebaum is a Polish-Canadian Holocaust survivor and author of “Buried Words: The Diary of Molly Applebaum”. During the war, Molly and her cousin Helen found refuge on a farm, where their only hope for survival was to be hidden away underground – in a box. A unique and poignant document, the diary is a stark confession of her fears and anxieties, her despair and her secrets, and above all, her fervent wish to stay alive. Buried Words offers a fascinating reflection on both Molly’s wartime experiences and her postwar life.
