Undergraduate Fellowship in Antisemitism Studies

The Lab for the Global Study of Antisemitism, based at the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies, invites advanced undergraduate students in the Jewish Studies Program to apply for the 2025-2026 Lab for the Global Study of Antisemitism Undergraduate Fellowship. This opportunity allows students to pursue research on contemporary or historical antisemitism, enhance their research skills, and engage with a vibrant intellectual community.

Please contact before November 5, 2025, if you are interested. Selected fellows will meet twice a month with other students and faculty supervisors to discuss their progress, share insights, and address research challenges. Fellows will gather materials, information, and data on experiences, responses, and policies from across government and other sectors related to antisemitism. Research may focus on Canada or extend to other global contexts, depending on fellows' interests and expertise.

Eligible students must be full-time undergraduate students in the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Toronto or currently enrolled in a relevant course in or cross-listed with Jewish Studies. Each undergraduate fellow will receive a small scholarship of $500 in support of this research and some collective meetings with Professors Ron Levi and Sol Goldberg.

Alternatively, undergraduate fellows will have the option to be enrolled in a 0.5 FCE independent study course through the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies in the winter term. To complete their course credit, fellows will each submit a 15-page research paper at the end of the academic year.

All applicants must submit a statement of interest (1-2 pages), a CV, and a copy of their current academic transcript. These must be sent by email in one single pdf document to Constance Chan at cjs.antisemitismlab@utoronto.ca by the deadline.
